Job description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and qualified Accounting Teacher with an NCE qualification to join our faculty. You will be responsible for teaching Business Studies at the junior level and Financial Accounting at the senior level (where applicable). Your goal is to simplify complex financial concepts, instill a sense of accuracy in record-keeping, and prepare students for academic success in commercial subjects. Key Responsibilities: ● Instructional Delivery: Teach core concepts of Accounting, including Bookkeeping, the Double-Entry System, Ledger accounts, and Financial Statements. ● Practical Application: Guide students on how to prepare simple balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash books. ● Curriculum Alignment: Develop lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and prepare students for external examinations (BECE, WAEC, or NECO). ● Critical Thinking: Encourage students to develop analytical and problem-solving skills through real-world business scenarios. ● Assessment: Conduct regular tests and examinations to evaluate student understanding of mathematical and financial principles. ● Classroom Leadership: Act as a class teacher, providing mentorship and monitoring the general welfare and discipline of your assigned students. Requirements & Qualifications: ● Education: Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with a major in Accounting or Business Education. ● Numeracy Skills: Exceptional ability in mathematics and financial calculations. ● Clarity of Speech: Ability to explain technical accounting terms in a way that is easy for young learners to grasp. ● Organization: Highly organized and methodical in lesson preparation and record-keeping. ● Professionalism: Must be a person of high integrity and a role model in conduct and ethics. ● Vetting: Successful candidates must complete the Proxtunity Statutory Guarantor process involving legal verification. Work Conditions: Hours: [7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday]
