Job description
Job Overview: We are looking for a passionate and articulate English Language Teacher with an NCE qualification to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a solid foundation in the English language, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Your goal is to inspire a love for literature and ensure every student achieves excellence in communication. Key Responsibilities: ◉ Literacy Instruction: Plan and deliver structured lessons in English Grammar, Comprehension, Composition, and Phonics. ◉ Reading Programs: Implement strategies to improve students' reading speeds and vocabulary, including organizing library hours or reading clubs. ◉ Spoken English: Actively work with students to improve their oral communication and pronunciation (Diction). ◉ Assessment & Grading: Prepare and grade weekly tests and terminal examinations to track student progress in line with the curriculum. ◉ Lesson Planning: Develop detailed lesson notes and instructional aids that make language learning interactive and engaging. ◉ Mentorship: Serve as a class teacher, overseeing the academic and moral welfare of a specific group of students. Requirements & Qualifications: ◉ Education: Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with a specialization/major in English Language. ◉ Language Proficiency: A high standard of written and spoken English is mandatory. ◉ Teaching Skills: Ability to use diverse teaching methods (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) to cater to different learning styles. ◉ Patience: Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to encourage students who struggle with language barriers. ◉ Integrity: High moral standards and a professional appearance. ◉ Vetting: Must be willing to undergo the Proxtunity Statutory Guarantor process involving legal verification. Work Conditions: ◉ Hours: [7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday]
